Clutch Slip (aka Twandy and Leon Watson) have been writing music together since November 2010. After promoting events together for around 7 years they finally found themselves on the same page musically and decided to commit to trying to put a string of releases together. After spending a few weeks holed up in ‘The Techno Kitchen’ they had the first of their tracks finished. Since then they have had releases on Unter Null, Midimal Recordings and Gobsmacked. The next step on the ladder is the imminent launch of their record label ‘Clutch Trax’.
Neil Templar is a mainstay of the Edinburgh techno scene and was resident/founder/promoter at Edinburgh’s legendary DOGMA, during which time he played alongside many techno legends such as Speedy J, Surgeon, Green Velvet,Chris Liebing, The Horrorist, the list goes on… You can expect dark, raw, minimal moodiness with attitude. Main room support from our irreplaceable residents Bruno FK and DD.
The second room will be a haven for all manner of dirty bassline and electro. Providing the heavy beats will be Maestro, resident at Dirt. We’ll also have Glasgow production/DJ duo Stereo Vandals. Support comes from the illustrious DJ Phrase.

It all began 3 years ago when Compakt had their first party and a new era in Edinburgh’s techno scene began. Since then they have played host to some of the world’s top techno DJs including Joey Beltram, Phil Kieran, Robert Babicz, Dustin Zahn and Gary Beck.
In that time one of the most impressive acts we had was Perc and it was therefore with great pleasure that he was invited back for another turn behind the decks at Cab Vol. From his earliest demos to his current position as a key figure in the global techno scene, Perc (aka Ali Wells) has taken the established forms of the music he loves and twisted them into something new and fresh. Building up successful relationships with scene-leading labels such as Drumcode, Ovum, Kompakt and CLR whilst unleashing a strong run of releases on his own, Perc’s Trax label has seen his influence and support grow even further. With each release, his sonic experimentation has taken another leap forward without losing sight of the dance floor.Support in the main room comes from DD and Bruno FK.
In the second room expect a mash up of D’n’B, dubstep and electro from Compakt resident DJ Phrase. To compliment his skills we are honoured to welcome drum’n’bass don Special Ed. As he is the promoter and resident of Homegrown and owner of Special Records, expect nothing but the freshest dubplates.
The Speakeasy will be hosted by the Edinburgh University Dance Music Society. Their resident DJs Tami, Frizza Fraze and Jack & Dunx will be spinning energetic house and electro tunes.
As we’re in the celebratory mood, it’ll be a bargain £0 (yes, free!) before 12am, and a staggering £5 after. So no excuses to come help us celebrate!
See you on the dancefloor,
Team Compakt

For April’s event we’ve decided to go for the full on party spirit and invite our friendsThe back room will be a more varied affair with all manner of bass music from electro to dubstep to Funky. The beats will be provided by the main man from Aberdeen’s Hush Hush night, Giles Walker. Fresh from releasing on Plasma Pool, Dirt’s very own Cobi will be on hand to provide his own brand of electro. Support comes from Compakt’s up and coming DJ hero, Phrase.
